Feb 1 Update – wow…what happened to winter

The good news is, I didn’t have to shovel the deck or the driveway this weekend…..as the rain pretty much took care of that…..now we just have ice…a little bit left anyway….which is not good for snowmobiling….quite dismal actually I have to say.

Not much we can do about the weather, so we’ll keep you informed as to when we do get some new snow to start again, so we can lay down ribbons of white running through the trees for you!

Thu Jan 28 Update

We had a little freezing rain again this morning, and an ever so slight dusting of wet snow this afternoon, but not even a cm accumulation, so in reality we have nothing for the trails. The forecast for the weekend is not looking great. So we are a little bit hosed at the moment. Trust me…I want to ride as well!!!!

Ride for Literacy has been postponed until Feb27.

When we do get snow again, please remember that some farmers have graciously allowed use of a trail across their land, just a trail, doesn’t mean anywhere and everywhere as they don’t see it a playground they way we see it! I know it’s hard, but when we do get the trails opened up, please stick to trails…and this year rocks, stumps and hazards are not buried in snow, so there is no protective layer to smooth things out, so please keep the speed down and ride with caution! You never know what is around the next corner.

Keep doing the snow dance, we’ll let you know when it’s working!

Wed Jan 27 Update – yikes

Well that rain yesterday didn’t help much at all…we ended up closing the trails as the limited base we did have has now turned to bare spots and icy conditions. Yesterdays snow fall amounted to an amazing 1cm I think…diddly…a mere dusting….although it was cold, it is not staying cold in the forecast, so unfortunately for us, that means we are stuck in a holding pattern again.

The Literacy Council has postponed the Ride from Jan 30 to Sat Feb 27, so lets aim for that!!!
Just think of the extra time that will give you for pledge forms!!!

We’ll let you know!
