Grab a copy of the Fall Newsletter for 2010 Check out the ODSC Calender of events: Volunteers and Elected Positions as of the AGM in April 2011 I’m not sure how many people realize just how many people it takes to run a volunteer organization such as this, and I believe all too often some people end up being taken for granted and doing a lot of the work. However, in my short time with the club I have come to realize that the success of the club lies heavily on many people and their hard efforts to make this a reality. My father always said “Many hands make light work” and it’s true. So come on out, help out where you can. If you think we can add something to the list, or break up one of the larger jobs, then let’s get together and make it happen. Snowmobiler or not, it’s a social group! The following is a quick list of the people and their elected positions they hold within the volunteer organization:
Remember these are all volunteer positions; these people are spending their own time for the love and improvement of the sport. If you happen to see a trail patroller out on a cold night, don’t be afraid to say thank you for the hard work and efforts! There is always something to be done, feel free to offer a hand with something on the list, or simply come on out to help clear a trail in the fall or early season. We are going to try to post some schedules for trail clearing this year, but it is a difficult thing to schedule, based on weather and ground conditions, and the speed at which we cut through some areas and move on to the next. Don’t be afraid to call upon one of the trail coordinators, leave your name and maybe a time when you are free, we can give you a call. Remember it’s a great excuse to get outside on some of those very beautiful fall mornings! We’re also looking for some people to help with some simpler items, like take some pictures, add them to the web, help make a trail brochure, simple write ups for the local paper or tourism magazines. Feel free to submit your stories, your new ideas, every little bit helps! Happy trails! |
