It has finally arrived! The club has possession of our new groomer for this year, it's a John Deere 6430 converted to a rubber track industrial groomer by Gilbert in Quebec, our club president was on hand to see it being built this summer! Although the snowmobile season was shortened last year, it seemed like a long season for our volunteers and groomer operators. The wet conditions, especially at the beginning of the season, unfortunately hindered some of our grooming operations. Even though our volunteers were met with these adverse conditions, they rallied on.
Our Groomer Fleet consists of a 2011 Gilbert 6430 John Deere, a 2003 AMFI 6420 John Deere and a Bombardier BR180 which are all owned and operated solely by Orillia and District Snowmobile Club Special thank you to: Earl Dertinger, Gord Souter and Jim Smith for allowing winter stationing of the three Groomers. The club appreciates the use of their properties for the parking of the groomers and fueling stations during the season.
In the post season, the Club purchased a 2008 Polaris 4X4 Ranger for trail work both opening and closing of trails as well as maintenance. Rob Byers, Groomer coordinator |
